I have worked at Thorley Pre-School since 1999 in various roles. Initially I was a Committee member and started in the setting by helping out once a week.
I undertook my training and became Supervisor in 2004 with a change of Job Title and role in 2009 when it was decided that I should become supernumary to support the staff, children, parents and Committee of the Pre-School to build on the Pre-School's success and implement new ideas, strategies and legislations. Sadly this does mean that I no longer work directly with the children - even though I do try and take some time each day to join them in their play, getting to know their characters and personalities. It is so rewarding to see each child develop, grow in confidence and get ready for their transition into school.
I have continued to undertake the role of Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator working closely with parents, staff and other professionals to ensure that we are all working together to support the child's needs.
