Speech and Language

Parents can take children to the Speech and Language drop in sessions for assessment if they are concerned about language. However, we would recommend either speaking to the

Pre-School or Health Visitor first to discuss concerns and to get advice on assessment criteria.

As part of our commitment to Children’s speech and language development, children are screened during their first term at Pre-School using the Wellcomm Speech and Language toolkit if staff or parents have any concerns. If an assessment takes place, parents will be advised after the Wellcomm Assessment whether or not we feel their child needs Speech & Language Involvement and information will be given to parents on how to support at home in the interim
